Tuesday 13th

Tuesday Feb 13th

It was a particular set of people who came together to make everything the Lord commanded: The tabernacle, the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altar, the curtain, the woven garments. God called people who met two conditions. The first was those who are skilled. The second, those who were willing and whose hearts moved them. These skilled and willing people brought their offerings to the Lord.

It prompted me to think and reflect, what has God skilled me in? What am I willing to do with those gifts he has bestowed? God not only gives a spiritual gifts, but he gives us abilities and skills to create things. He has given us working hands, minds, and feet.

Exodus 35:31, "and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills". God equips our minds, but he also equips us with practical skills, and it is our choice how we use them. We can use our hands in everyday situations to serve the Lord. What has God given you the ability to do? Are you artistic? Can you write? Can you cook? Can you teach? Can you organize? What are you willing to offer that will draw on your God-given skills?

Lord, thank you for making us skilled and giving us abilities. Help us to hone those skills. Forgive us when we forget all the gifts you have given. Forgive us when we are not willing to use our skills for your glory. Please help us to acknowledge what you have blessed us with. Give us willing hearts and minds to use our skills for your purposes, to honor and glorify you and to bless others.
