A Prayer For The Power and Hope Found In The Voice Of The Lord (Ex. 23:2, Matt 24:4, Prov. 7:21-22, Ps. 29:4-9)
Life can at times be difficult Lord. At moments it is….. hurdled with challenges, sidetracked by struggles, a witnesses to violence, tossed by turmoil, pierced by pain, weighed down by grief, gripped with fear, bound by regret, left empty with loss, frustrated by lack, filled with uncertainty and silence that causes us to question how, where or when to take the next step forward. These moments of life, and more, can often deafen us to truth, to your guidance, your freedom, your power, YOUR VOICE!!!
Lord when these things of life hit it is so easy for us to tune into the voice of the world, the crowds around us and be lead in directions that are away from you. It is so easy to hear words that have not been weighed against your truth and to be deceived by them. Your word tells us that pervasive words lead astray like an Ox to the slaughter. Pervasive words during these difficult moments in our lives are dangerous. They sound soothing but do not, cannot, offer the freedom and hope that is only found in YOUR VOICE!!!
YOUR VOICE, though often spoken in a whisper like to the prophet Elijah heard on the mountain, is a voice of Power, it is Majestic, it Breaks Cedars, Strikes with Flashes of Lightening, Shakes the Desert, Twists Oaks, and Strips Forests Bare. Your whisper's guarantee hope because you speak power. When you speak, change is on the horizon. Like flashes of lightening, when you speak and we are listening to YOUR VOICE it lights the way during the dark patches of life. If our lives or the lives of others are spiritual dry YOUR VOICE can shake the desert, stir it up and bring about the changes needed to refresh or revive the soul. If pride in any shape has set up home in life YOUR VOICE has the power to break it like a Cedar and allow room for a humble heart to take root and grow. If life is surrounded by pervasive words and deceitful longings YOUR VOICE can break through and strip them away like a forest left bare.
YOUR VOICE Lord has the ability to render power and authority in any and all situations of our lives. YOUR VOICE Lord offers hope when things look and feel hopeless. YOUR VOICE can silence the things that keep us trapped and bound. YOUR VOICE offers everything that is needed for any situation life brings to us or those around us…we only need to be listening and trusting the power it provides.
Speak Lord and let us not just hear but to feel and see the life changing power that is in Your Voice!!!
