Genesis 3:1-4:26

Matthew 2:13-3:6

Psalm 2:1-12

Proverbs 1:7-9

In reading today's verse I get the sense of obeying, Repenting and trusting in God. In Psalm David describes the rebellion of the nations and the coming of Christ to establish his external reign. People often think they will be free if they remove themselves from God. It is inevitable everyone serves something or everything. Just as a fish is not free if it leaves the water, we are not free when we leave the LORD. We can find one definite route to freedom and that is by serving God. God is powerful, he created the world and knew about the empires of the earth long before they came into being. Pride and power has caused the nations to rebel against God, we must submit to his leadership every day. In times we feel lost and don't know the road or future ahead we need not worry but trust God knows the path set out before us. This year some of us may feel we don't know what lies ahead but we can find rest in Jesus and having faith in the word.

In today's world information and knowledge is plentiful but wisdom is scarce. The basic foundation of knowledge is to fear the Lord, to honor, respect and obey his word. Faith in God should be a controlling principle for your understanding of the world. Your attitude and your actions. Trust in God and he will make you wise. Our actions speak louder than our words this means at home as children and family learn morals, values and priorities by observing how parents or guardians act and react in everyday life. If children and family see your dependence on God through trials and triumphs, they will catch these attitudes. Teach them right living by giving worship an important place in your family life and by reading the bible together.

Let's repent and do a 180 turn and NOT focus on self-centeredness that leads to wrong action's such as lying gossiping, stealing, indulging in sexual immorality and abusing. A person who repents stops rebelling and begins following Gods way. The first step is turning to God and admitting your sin. Then God will receive you and help you live the way he wants, remember only God can get rid of sin. He doesn't expect us to clean up our lives before we come to him. We need to be in constant prayer and communication with God, dependent on him.

I pray God will break chains of people today, that we will have increase in wisdom. Let's prepare the way for the Lord and allow him into everything we do like John prepared the way for Jesus. Someone you know may be open to a relationship with Christ. How are you helping those around you to welcome Jesus this year? Let us practice what we preach and learn how to learn from others, only God knows it all. I pray we will teach our children and family the word and let us only be concerned with the praise of God,

Amen
