In todays reading we see a-lot of building going on both physically and spiritually. We must build the foundation of our lives on Jesus Christ. We must work day and night to strengthen our spiritual muscles. Looking at your gym membership tag hanging on-your key ring is not going to get you in shape. We must not let our pride, arrogance, self righteousness, procrastination, and just plain laziness get in the way our spiritual growth. Lets take an inventory of our building supplies.
A. Gods word. Do we read it, live by it, trust it, believe it, do we take it seriously? Do we read then close it and do what we want anyways? Is your bible sitting under the short leg of your couch, on your nightstand or collecting dust on your bookshelf?
B. Prayer. Do we run to it in the storms, do we remember it on the sunny days, do you know it works, or do you think it does? Do you pray enough, do you always talk about wanting to have a better prayer life but never bet off your duff and actually do it?
C. Sharing your faith! Do you invite people to church and get excited to ask people and talk about Jesus? Or do you show up late each week and make a bunch of excuses why? Are you loving God and loving people, are you
making disciples? Do you attend a bible study small group or keep putting it off until next week and that was four years ago?
Will you or I ever be able to build a temple of God with half hearted attempts, lame excuses, and good intension about tomorrow?
If we want to build a great temple and help others build their temple then we have to stop thinking, trying, whining, complaining, and waiting until tomorrow which never comes and start;
Reading Gods word and apply it
Praying so much about everything until its your goto response for everything!
Share, live, show, and use your faith to glorify God in the good and the bad. Put to use ALL of the gifts God has blessed you with to bring glory to his name. Yes that means when you feel like God is absent, doesn't care, left you alone, and your wondering why God-let "THIS" whatever your "THIS" Is happen in your life. Know that you have an amazing testimony to share to encourage those around you who have no sense of hope and do not have Jesus in their life. Point them, guide them and lead them to the cross.
"Before you tell someone what a friend they have i. jesus, show them what a friend they have in you"
To paraphrase James. Your show me your faith by what you, ill show you-my faith by what I do!
