Exodus 32:1-33:23
Matthew 26:69-27:14
Psalm 33:1-11
Proverbs 8:33-36

As we've been reading through the Bible this year, one question from God continues to echo in the back of my mind - "Where are you?" (Genesis 3:9). This question that God asks right after Adam and Eve sinned against God seems to be the driving force behind all that God does from Genesis to Revelation. Reconciliation. Relationship. God is pursuing a people that will simply allow Him to love them. What amazes me is how the Lord imparts this hunger for reconciliation and relationship in the hearts of His followers; how being in the presence of God and living in relationship with Him transforms the hearts of God's people to be like God's heart.

Moses, after coming down Mt. Sinai and finding his sisters and brothers having a party for a golden calf, offers this prayer: "Please forgive their sin - but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written" (Ex. 32:32). He was willing to sacrifice himself for the people. That's the heart of God.

Jesus, when asked by Pilate if He is the king of the Jews, replies, "Yes, it is as you say." Yet He says nothing when asked about the charges the Jews have brought against Him. Jesus accepted ALL of the false charges against Him - the charges meant for us. That's the heart of God.

Proverbs 8:35, "Whoever finds me [wisdom] finds life and receives favor from the LORD."
But, God is not the One hiding. God is so out in the open completely exposing His love for us and crying out, "Where are you?" I want the heart of God.

LORD, make our hearts like Yours. We present ourselves to You as living sacrifices asking that You would use us so someone might know how much You care for him/her today.
