Genesis 16:1-18:15
Matthew 6:1-24
Psalm 7
Proverbs 2:1-5

Then the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say, 'Can an old woman like me have a baby?'  Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son." Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying, "I didn't laugh." But the Lord said, "No, you did laugh."
~ Genesis 18:13-15

God keeps His promises.

One of my favorite things about the Bible is reading about the flawed people that God uses for His great purposes. Sara is definitely one of these people. God promised her and Abraham that they would have a son. But she had trouble believing this. She took matters into her own hands and insisted that her husband father a child with her servant Hagar. She was cruel to Hagar. She laughed and doubted God when He told her again that she would have a child. She lied when God confronted her.

Despite her mistakes, God still chose her to be the mother of His people. God still keep His promise. God still remained faithful. God still blessed her and all her descendants.

We can count on God to be faithful even when we are not. We can count on God to keep His promises even when we doubt. We can count on God's love even when we sin.
