 2 Kings 18:13-19:37

Acts 21:1 -17

Psalm 149:1-9

Proverbs 18:8

There are times that we don't want to do what the holy spirit is telling us to do and others around you may say "don't do that", and we may either overcome fear or be overcome by fear. Paul was begged by local believers not to go to Jerusalem as he would be turned over to the Romans.  Paul knew that he would be imprisoned in Jerusalem. He knew that he had to go because God wanted him too. No one enjoys pain, but a faithful disciple wants to please God above all else. Our desire to please God should overshadow our desire to avoid hardships and suffering. When we really want to do God's will, we must accept everything that comes with it, whether it be pain, suffering or rejoicing. We then can say with Paul - "The Lords will be done".

I pray we are not afraid to approach God with our prayers, but we come to him with respect for who he is and what he can do. May we not let arrogance take over and think that our achievements are solely due to us but due to our Messiah. May we know in our hearts that God is a creator who rules over nations and people and can rebuild a strong nation.

If you are feeling that only a spark of faith remains in you, that you may ask God to use it to rekindle the blazing fire of commitment to him. I pray that we lift each other up, encourage those around us and not be judgmental, discouraging of others or spreading of Gossip. Completeness of judgement will be executed by Jesus when he returns to punish all evil doers (Revelation 1:16). May we find ways to praise God and not take on the troubles of the world for ourselves. May we be aware that if only a glimmer of faith remains in a person's heart, God can use it to restore a blazing faith in that believer. Let us spread the light to those around us, as a small bit can make a person's day,

Amen
