Bible Blog 2020

Genesis 1:1-2:25

Matthew 1:1-2:12

Psalm 1:1-6

Proverbs 1:1-6

As we all start the New Year, we may set New Year's resolutions, we all have hope as to what the new year will bring. As we live in an action- orientated world. There always seems to be something to do and no time to rest. God himself rested from his work. We should also take the time to rest. Our times of rest refresh us for times of service. What will you do this year to please God?

God is our Immanuel "God with us" Jesus was God in flesh, thus God was literally among us "with us". Through the Holy Spirit, Christ is present today in the life of every believer. This give me comfort knowing this.  This year we may avoid doing what is right because of what others might think, Like Joseph, we must choose to obey God rather than seek the approval of others.  God will give us choices and we, too often choose wrongly. These wrong choices may cause us pain, but they can help us learn and grow and make better choices in the future. Living with the consequences of our choices teaches us to think and choose more carefully.

May we continue to pray for all the good and evil happening Globally, let's keep in mind that God doesn't judge people on the basis of race, sex or nationality. He judges us on the basis of our faith in him and our response to his revealed will.  God will work in our lives as we begin to speak the word every day and the way we see the world around us will be reshaped, equipping us with the words to deal with every situation. We can learn how to follow God by meditating on his word. Meditating means spending time reading and thinking about what you have read. It means asking yourself how you should change so you live as God wants. Knowing and meditating on God's word are the first step towards applying it to your everyday life. The more we delight in God's presence, the more fruitful we are.

I pray that 2020 is a year full of faith, prosperity, growth and health. That we may encounter the love of God. Through the challenges that we may face this year, that they will make our faith stronger and that we lean on Gods understanding and not our own. May we speak Gods word aloud everyday whatever our age or circumstance, wherever we live, work or play, we want the Bible to be spoken allowed to bless communities and see Gods powerful word accomplished,

Amen.
