March 3: As George Michael once sang...

"But I gotta have faith..."

Leviticus 27:14-Numbers 1:54
Mark 11:1-26
Psalm 46:1-11
Proverbs 10:23

As I read Mk 11:1-6, I couldn't help but think: this was theft! It wasn't their colt. If Jesus was wrong, the penalties could have been very severe...but they trusted Jesus and they went and did what He asked. They had faith that mattered.

It was the kind of faith that could, as the psalmist wrote in Psalm 46:1-11, "be still and know that I am God.". The faith Jesus described in Mk 11:22-25 that could tell a mountain to throw itself into the sea, not doubt, and see that it was done for the person of faith. It is the kind of faith that asks in prayer, believes it has received and does, in fact, receive.

If you are like me, you do not yet have this faith...but you want it: the kind of faith that lets one see past their inabilities and shortcomings, past the adverse effects one may have had, one is inevitably going to have, on family and on friends, on people one loves, to know that He has them all in His care.
